In amazement, I read the
article by Domenico Bettinelli Jr. in the current Catholic World Report
concerning the Boston diocese's response to the clergy sex-abuse scandal. As
a retired Air Force officer, I am disappointed that Deacon Rizzuto so
obviously failed to research Catholic sources prior to implementation of
this non-Catholic course foisted onto the parents and children of the
diocesan schools. It appears that trading in Cardinal Law didn't help your
situation. I do include your cause in
my prayers with particular attention to my parish's patroness, St. Elizabeth
Ann Seton. Perhaps, with wide publicity, your situation may awake the
Catholic laity to the failure of our hierarchy to shed their administrative
role and return to their primary task as pastors. With best regards,
--William F. Brennan (Las Vegas, NV)
My wife and I just read about this incredible
scandal in CWR. We prayed for all of you last night for a long time and
will continue to do so. We'd like to help, even tho we live in Maryland.
Would letter writing to the Boston Pilot and other Boston papers
encouraging Boston Catholics to take action help (in your estimation)? We
stand by you incredulous that the Archdiocese can AGAIN be so inept in
it's treatment of children and the laity. And we also are aware that what
happens in Boston will be a test for the nation, and we are deadset
against having this program in our Archdiocese. Let us know how we can
help you guys other than prayers. Blessings and Peace to you all. Thank
you SO MUCH for fighting the good fight, especially against the misguided
shepherds who are supposed to be leading us. In Christ and His Mother,

"Hello. I'm very grateful for this web site and the message your getting
out re: TAT. I had heard that the TAT program would be implemented
next fall at our children's school but didn't give it another thought as I had not
heard anything negative about the program. My brother-in-law then passed
on a copy of the recent article from The Wanderer to my husband and I and
we were a little disturbed to say the least. Anyway, just wanted
you to know that we're sharing the article with our friends (and now we
will let them know about the web site as well) and we hope to stay updated
and active with developments so we can help to achieve necessary change.
Keep up the good work and we will keep you in our prayers. Thank you
again."

"I saw the story in the Catholic
World News about the TAT program that is being forced on your children.
I support you 100% and agree with everything you are saying. I wish there
was something that I could do to help you, and I only hope that this program
does not make its way into our dioceses in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I
will keep you and all the other parents in my prayers."

"Congratulations on what you are doing. 23 years
ago, the same concerns arose here in Victoria, Australia, about both
state-run and Catholic schools. I wrote a series of articles about it in a
newspaper of which I was deputy editor at the time (I'm now retired), and
that led to the formation of a Concerned Parents' Association of Australia.
The executive committee consisted of Catholics, Baptists, Anglicans and
Presbyterians, and we all worked together very well (real
ecumenism!) Caused quite a furor, but the only tangible result was the
increased number of families deciding to home-school. Unless you can find
a real Catholic school, it's the only way to go. I
think our main problem, in Australia as in the US, is our bishops.
You have some good ones in the US, and we have perhaps one here, but really
the only thing to do is be confident that your Catholic sensus fidelium
(plus the documents on the matter from Rome) are the correct guide. God
bless your efforts."

"Thank
you for the great work in communicating this issue. My husband and I are on
board to oppose TAT and are trying to learn as much as possible ASAP. We
will spread the word around our school. We hope to attend the June 22
meeting and have contacted the archdiocese to be counted as opponents. My
simple message to them for now is, 'Regarding the explicit examples used in
TAT, we should not be forced to sacrifice the innocence of our children to
make amends for the sins of certain archdiocesan priests.'"

"I
just looked at your web site, and it couldn't have been done better. God
bless you. You can count on my prayers and support. I'll be calling the
archdiocese and sending a letter."
